Philosophy
Every person is different.
Their context is different. Their strengths and challenges are different. Their dreams and aspirations are different. Their definition of success is different.
Yet too often, people are forced into identical paths, moulds and milestones. That may work for a few, but not for many. This is not because they are incapable, but because the path was not built for them.
At BECOM, we believe every individual has the ability to build a successful and meaningful career.
Our role is not to tell people who they should Becom. We help people discover who they can Becom through the way they learn, work, and lead. This philosophy shapes our approach and everything we do.

Approach
From knowing to Becoming
We are career nutritionists
Our goal isn't just short-term performance. It is long-term career health.
Most career development focuses on knowledge or skills: attend a workshop, watch a video, complete a digital module or simulation. These experiences are valuable, but rarely change behaviors, decisions and actions.
Nutritionists don’t just prescribe a diet. They understand the individual, diagnose, coach, monitor progress and help people build sustainable behaviors that last for decades.
We do the same for careers. We train, coach, mentor, counsel and sometimes help answer the right question at the moment.
BECOM also partners with managers and organizations to create workplace culture, leadership practices and systems that enable young professionals to learn, contribute and thrive.

About Padma
If I choose a phrase that defines me, it would be, ‘Constantly overcoming challenges and raising standards.’
I grew up in Durgapur, a steel township and did my schooling in free schooling offered by SAIL. I studied hard to get admission into an excellent engineering college, REC Durgapur (now NIT). As one of the very few women in my batch, I realized that I have to compete in a field largely dominated by men.
When I finally joined an organization, I did my best and let life change my course towards Organization Development. Along with the experience of decades that followed, I invested in world- class learning at UCLA, Anderson School of Management & NUS to deepen my expertise.
I have guided large teams, travelled multiple countries, worked with people across cultures, led a function in a global organization, held a responsible portfolio in a large conglomerate and coached and mentored numerous professionals. I have written case study that was published in IVEY, I have written a book that is available here, have been a speaker in numerous conferences. Perhaps, most importantly, I am also a proud mother.
Each of these experiences have shaped the way I think, the questions I ask and the perspectives I bring to work.
At this juncture, I felt it was time to build something of my own; a way to share what I have learned and make my experience useful to others. My goal is simple: to offer thoughtful, validated perspectives that you can apply to your own context, rather than one-size-fits-all answers.
